In addition to managing supply chains, customer demands, and ever-changing technology, we need to properly streamline processes and adhere to industry-specific guidelines. Food and beverage items come with their own time-sensitive rules and specific guidelines and regulations about storage for cleanliness and health reasons. An integrated e-Commerce solution can be key to helping you tackle this:

Turning Search Results into Selling Opportunities

website searchHow can we make good webshop search great? Good search functions on your e-Commerce website means that customers find what they are looking for quickly and easily. It is efficient in interpreting keywords into relevant search results, and can include auto-complete options or search for item number, name, and description. For example if a customer wanted to find a specific product but couldn’t remember the exact name, they could put in descriptor words to find the item they want. Search functions can also be used to bypass categories if a shopper didn’t feel like they had the time to go that route or just prefer the search bar as their primary approach to online shopping. Having good search alone really improves user experience and it’s become one of the expected features of any e-Commerce website. In today’s business environment, good needs to become great.

This is in addition to the sales, implementation, technology, and OEM partners. We’ve listened to feedback and want to make it even easier for our partners to recommend and introduce Nav-to-Net™ to their client base. This also supports our existing partners as we grow our business network and make new connections.

See Configurator in Action

The customer journey on an e-Commerce website, from awareness to purchase, can be complex. There are several key moments and interactions that can influence a shopper to buy. Sometimes when there is too much information available, it is easy to lose focus which may result in a diminished shopping experience and loss of sale.

A product configurator can greatly improve the buying experience, whether in B2B (manufacturing and engineering  for example) or B2C (like a customized fashion piece). Configurators are useful in streamlining the buying process, from individual personalization of items to tailoring to unique business needs. Product configurators also seek to educate and inform buyers through a series of steps and questions; it presents relevant product information, upsells, and through the use of exclusions, helps show customers what is available or not depending on their previous selections.

Multi-Dimensional Product Variants in e-Commerce

Multi-Dim Product Variant - ShoesEffective organization and proper product presentation in e-Commerce yields many benefits for your business and customers. Imagine you are looking for a particular shirt in a very messy room with clothes littered everywhere; clothes are hiding in drawers, hanging in closets, strewn haphazardly across the floor. There is no discernible organizational scheme. You would have to look in every spot and check to see if it is the item you want; that takes times and effort just to find the one item.

Excessive clicking makes for a poor e-Commerce experience with many clicks back and forth to find something. To help alleviate this annoyance for your customers, your webshop needs organization through effective categorization, powerful search functions, and clear presentation of your items. This is especially true when your products have multiple variants and they are displayed on separate item pages. Multi-dimensional product variant item pages are a way to mitigate this and help you create cohesive and easy to use pages.

Customized Content Improves Customer Experience

e-Commerce on all devices with Responsive Design

E-Commerce is no longer a new trend. The online market has become increasingly saturated as businesses capitalize on the potential in selling online and technology has advanced quickly to meet those needs. It can be challenging for companies to stand out amongst the mass availability of goods and services online and to capture their target customer’s attention. E-Commerce becomes less about the specific products you offer but about the experience you deliver. Personalized content is an important factor that customers appreciate in both B2B and B2C e-Commerce experiences; in fact, they are more likely to convert with personalized content. Nav-to-Net™ tokens are a way to achieve personalized content that improves customer experience.

New Customization Capabilities for Nav-to-Net™

Nav-to-Net default themeStylesheets in Nav-to-Net™

There is an increased need for customizability and flexibility in e-Commerce. Customers are looking for engaging brand experiences, not just a simple click and buy from a webshop. E-Commerce has the ability to be that for customers; the digital platform for shopping allows customers to browse, order, educate themselves, be social, and interact with the company and brand as a whole. Look and feel is an important part of establishing that initial connection so customers “get” you, what you’re about, and recognizing you from your competitors. It helps you maintain that consistency across all platforms.

We at Digital Vantage Point understand the trends and customer needs for a webshop to look a certain way. This is why we’ve optimized stylesheets in Nav-to-Net™ to help you achieve the exact look and feel your business desires while still being seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Using new technology available to DVP, we dramatically improved the user interface manageability as the customization of look and feel can managed using stylesheets directly in Nav-to-Net™.

I Want That Outfit! – Product Configurator for Outfits

ID-100384650Ever found the perfect item of clothing online and wished it was easier to find matching items?  Selecting a special dress or suit is usually just the start of a long and sometimes frustrating online process. “I’ve found the perfect dress for a friend’s wedding but really need  a complete outfit ….the shoes, handbag  and perhaps jewelry accessories  to match, but it’s a pain to have to constantly click back and forth to find suitable matching products. And even if I find my accessories elsewhere, how can I be sure the colour shade will match?”

A well-constructed product configurator can help customers think and decide, eliminating confusion. It gives e-Commerce retailers a new way to organize and shape the buying process; we show only what needs to be shown given the context of the configurator and buying decision to be made.

Changes to Microsoft Conferences

Digital Vantage Point Convergence BoothWhy We’re Not Exhibiting at Envision 2016

There’s been a change in the Microsoft conferences this year, specifically Convergence. In the past, this has been an event that we’ve attended, sponsored, and invested in to great success (see here and here.) However, this year, Microsoft has rebranded the event and it is now called Envision. It targets C-level executives and key business decision makers. The conference seeks to help business leaders to understand new technology and how they can take advantage of the evolving business landscape;  it aims to focus on the insights and strategies from various Microsoft channels.
